I still see it fairly often. Next time it happens I'll check if that process is running.

For me it appears to happen when I roam between different networks (possibly only if I do so when nm-applet is prompting for the gnome-keyring to be opened (which I always deny))...

An alternative explanation is that it happens when many wireless networks are detected while the above happens.
