Bug Description

This has been a bug since 11.10 at least. Booting up, I get put into a text shell rather than the lightdm greeter.

The problem is, the nv kernel hasn't loaded yet so lightdm fails. If you look at the attached /etc/init/lightdm.conf (if it's attached), I had to insert "sleep 5" before the line "exec lightdm" to make it wait a few seconds for the nv kernel. This resolves the issue.

It would be great to see this fixed by 12.10. The bug has been around for way too long and is a critical one.
