There is no "Drive ready to eject" message once I have clicked on the unmount icon in Files.

Bug Description

There is no "Drive ready to eject" message once I have clicked on the unmount icon in Files. This would be handy and Ubuntu has it too, as sometimes it takes a while to write the files in queue back to the external drive.

It does show up for me if unmounting takes longer than usual.

I'd suggest replacing the eject icon with a spinner once unmounting is initiated, to make it obvious that the action was successfully initiated and is in progress.

My unmounts were rather fast compared to other PCs so maybe it only displays the message if it takes longer.

A spinner would be nice and informative but its another mac-like thing. Maybe the design team has a better idea/improvement.

I second Sergey's suggestion to use a spinner. I think I would only suggest adding a notification if the unmount is completed while Files is not focused.

I'm not sure what to do about this report - technically it's not true, but this area could use UX improvements.
