PDF views but silently fails to print

Bug Description

I have a particular PDF file that opens fine in Evince (also KPDF, Acrobat) but fails silently to print, both with Evince and KPDF. On Acrobat (all of this on linux) it prints but hte job immediately shows up as 'stopped' and can't be resumed.

With this PDF I can also not successfully run 'ps2pdf' but I *can* successfully run pdfnup.

I think that it might be a bug either in Evince or Poppler that some error state in the PDF is perhaps not being detected, or an error state from CUPS is not being returned back to the GUI...?

I can't post this PDF on the net (it's an academic paper), but I can happily send it to anyone who is able to look at this issue -- just send me your email address. My contact details available via my profile.

Cheers
JP

To clarify: if this PDF is corrupted, I don't expect the impossible and for the file to print. But if it shows up on screen, I at least expect an error message telling me that something detectable has gone wrong when I attempt to print the file.

Thanks for the bug report. As this bug was posted a while ago, it would help if an open example pdf document was attached that exhibits the problem you are describing.

Marking Incomplete pending example problem document.
