I just tried to install linux-generic-lts-raring, after enabling proposed, and got the following message:

Added linux-meta-lts-raring as I got the problem after installing linux-generic-lts-raring. Doesn't seems the right package, but I couldn't find linux-generic-lts-raring, sorry.
Please change to the right package.

According to the log you have installed linux 3.8.0-20-generic without the headers. That is the problem.

I did have the headers installed and I still got the exact same build-error and problems as described and shown in the logs above.
(I installed through the meta packages for both image and headers)

same here, no reply, had to reinstall my pc again.
Was unable to fix this, after upgrade of the nvidia driver my system went whoo...
Never had this with debian... back to debian.
