Bug Description

I've used Griffith with Ubuntu for several years & had a collection of ~3000 films cataloged. I've never had probs w/ backup or restore before. I routinely backup after entering a handful of new titles to keep the dB uptodate.

Recently I updated my OS to a newer version, made sure to save the latest 3 backups from Griffith & when I loaded Griffith (it seems you have a newer version here on the homepage) ... the new version is unable to read the old backup files.

I've given this a few months, reloaded Griffith, hoping the glitch would be fixed, and still the same old ....

We are not amused. If I have to reenter 3000 DVDs into a dB, I certainly wouldn't entrust the collection to Griffith again. I would hope you can fix this glitch. But since this is not a recent problem, and hasn't been fixed in month, I am no longer optimistic. I note that restore also doesn't work with Windows or Macs. Sounds like a major Griffith failure to me!

This bug is fixed. But there is currently no official version of griffith released with that fix.
But there is a relatively simple way to make your installation working.
Please have a look at the following report which describes it in more detail.
