With voice enabled:

With HUD_VOICE_DISABLE=1

real 0m1.086s
user 0m0.200s

Simply delaying the voice init until the first voice query would also be bad - it would take > 10 seconds for HUD to even start listening to the speaker.

What we really want is to have a separate daemon that starts after the main boot thrashing is over.

It's also worth pointing out that while this is bad, I'm not sure if it's the only cause of the very slow boots that HUD seems to be causing.
