Bug Description

Binary package hint: synaptic

E: Malformed line 48 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list (dist parse)
E: The list of sources could not be read.
 tried to fix it with sudo apt-get update and sudo apt-get install -f
didn't work :(

Thanks for your bugreport.

Please attach your /etc/apt/sources.list to this bugreport.
Then please remove line 48 from the file /etc/apt/sources.list and see if that fixes the issues.
How did you edited that file? With the software-properties command or manually (or with a script)?

Go to the repository dialog to correct the problem.
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

This is what I got when I went into the Synaptic Package. It told me to use the /etc/apt/sources.list from the software properties command. I have no clue what has happened.What is the repository dialog pls help I am trying to learn this as I go. No one has taught me about Ubuntu/Linux program. I am use to windows. I have had this for only a week and am a pure novice to this program.
