Bug Description

Sara Am ( U+0E33 Unicode ) Thai character doesn't have a proper space after it. This causes an overlapping effect between the said character and the following character which come after it, as show in attachment.

However, this bug only affected latest inkscape-trunk in PPA ( I'm on inkscape-trunk 1:0.48+devel+13274+47~ubuntu12.04.1 ). The bug doesn't occur in Inkscape Stable on Ubuntu 12.04 USC ( inkscape 0.48.3.1-1ubuntu1.1 ) and the one in Inkscape Stable PPA ( inkscape 0.48.4+27~ubuntu12.04.1 ). I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 64-bit, updated to the latest version. Kernel 3.8.0-38-generic.

Possibly related to the regression in trunk tracked in
- Bug #1282968 “trunk: kerning of Telugu fonts is broken (rev >= 12488)”

Could you provide a sample SVG file and possibly a download link for the correct font to be used, to ease testing on other systems and by members of the bug team not familiar with Thai script?

Thx for the files.

Based on tests with sample file & font on OS X 10.7.5:
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48.2, 0.48.4,
- not reproduced with Inkscape 0.48+devel rev <= 12487,
- reproduced with Inkscape 0.48+devel rev >= 12488;
like bug #1282968 this regression seems to be related to the merge of the EMF/WMF branch in revision 12488.

Also reproduced on Windows XP, Inkscape trunk revision 13328.
