Bug Description

When I have a menu item selected (like the gear, time, etc) in the menu bar so that it is showing its options (like users, calendar, etc) and the screen goes to sleep, when a user moves the mouse, the screen wakes up, and the entire screen is visible, the user can look at any menu items, until the first click.

After the first click, the lock screen finally appears, but at this point, the whole screen has been visible for an indefinite amount of time.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug 49579, so it is being marked as such.

This is a fundamental bug in the design of X11 and cannot be easily fixed within X11.

You should manually lock your screen if a locked session is important to you.

Please continue to report any other bugs you may find.
