VLC doesn't appear

Bug Description
I'm using Ubuntu 14.04LTS. Today VLC's icon didn't appear. Ubuntu Software Center says as Installed....but its icon is not the old one. (shows Software source's icon instead). When I searched .... A green tablet-like-icon appears. Used Synaptic...removed vlc (not complete removal) and installed. Not succcessful.
