Bug Description

Binary package hint: glade-3

To be able to use Launchpad for translations, this package needs to regenerate its .pot file on build time, just like the other packages. Right now, that's not true so we are not able to import its translations automatically and glade-3 is not translated at all.

Which language do you want to use Glade-3 in? I tested and could use it in Hungarian without any problems.
The fact that Glade-3 language files are not from Rosetta does not mean they are not / they cannot be translated.

You can also have a look at the Gnome Translation Project: http://www.gnome.org/i18n/

I'm one of the Launchpad developers in charge of Launchpad Translations.

The fact that Glade-3 language files are not from Launchpad means that they will not appear in language packs and thus, the application will be untranslated in all languages. That's because glade-3 is in main and we remove all translations to use the ones from Language packs.

Right now, in Gutsy you have glade-3 half translated because some libraries provide translations, but the glade-3 specific strings are not translated at all.

This works in Feisty because that package is in universe and the translations are not removed.

I suggest that you update the language packs right away and include the translations while waiting for this to be fixed.

Not delivering the translations just because Launchpad doesn't get what it expects is an awful decision.

Is this fixed? My glade-3 has seen no translation love yet.

This is sad. Glade-3 spent the best part of this ubuntu's release untranslated yet translations exist.
