Bug Description
Ubuntu 14.10 r197
1. Launch the Clock app.
What you see: A date of the form "Mon 18, Aug"
What you should see:
* The weekday should not be abbreviated unless there isn't room for the full day.
* If the weekday is abbreviated, there should not be a comma between it and the date.

Thanks for reporting this bug. In the old clock app (the one with the purple background) the date format string was hardcoded resulting in the inconsistency. We have fixed this in the new clock app which is set to replace the old clock app in the next promoted image.
I have attached a screenshot of it fixed in the new clock app.
We will not be backporting the fix to the old clock app since the replacement will be done in a day or two hopefully.
