gnome-panel crashed when Unity3D-based game is started

Bug Description

This bug was also reported: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1201095

but it was said to report it again and fill bug report, so I did. This is my first time filling bug report so please be gentle.

1) LSB Version: core-2.0-amd64:core-2.0-noarch:core-3.0-amd64:core-3.0-noarch:core-3.1-amd64:core-3.1-noarch:core-3.2-amd64:core-3.2-noarch:core-4.0-amd64:core-4.0-noarch

2) package version: 1:3.8.0-1ubuntu12.1

3) not crash gnome-panel and play the game

4) gnome panel crashed, game still runs well; however after restarting gnome-panel again trough:
/usr/bin/gnome-panel &> /dev/null &

some menus (eg. the Wine menu at the "Start" panel) is missing.

I will gladly provide additional information.
