This appears to be related to Bug #1406303 which is believed to be caused by certain icons not being found, perhaps due to a non-standard theme being used, and the code not properly handling the situation.

You're right, I just tried to change first the icons to its default and then open Files in a new window administrator and it worked.

I forgot to tell that the icon pack I used was Pacifica from devian art.

Thanks. In that case, a branch I am working on now should fix this (although you will not get the selection-helper emblems unless they exist in the theme you are using).

its working now, I changed my numix-circle icon to default elementary icon.

Now with custom icons theme (I have Pacifica icon pack) Files no longer crashes when trying to open it as a new window administrator, although the theme is not the same, but I don't care as long as it works.
