Bug Description

Hello,
First bug report so I hope I get it right.

Mint version:
17.2 64bit Mate, upgraded from 17.1. Kernel updated from 3.13.0-37 to 3.16.0-38.

Problem description:
Attached external USB3 disk, LaCie Quadra d2 with two partitions, one ntfs and one hfs+.

What happened:
After about 5 seconds the machine freezes, no keyboard response and I can not ssh into the machine.

Expected:
Expected the disk to mount and appear in Caja as previously.

Frequency:
Always with kernel 3.16.0-38. With kernel 3.13.0-37 the disk mounts as expected.

Attachment:
I've attached what I think is the relevant information from syslog. I've tried it of two different machines with the same result which is why the hostnames in the log differs.

New development.

I upgraded to 17.3 and kernel 3.19.0-32 (recommended) and now the disk works as expected when using USB2. If I use USB3 the machine doesn't see the disk in Caja or Disks. Please not that in the attached log I did not disconnect the disk until the end of the log.
