"resize page to drawing" does not work with masks

Bug Description

If masks are part of the bounding box of a drawing, the "resize page to drawing or selection" corrupts the svg.

The resulting .svg displays incorrectly in all other viewers (Internet Explorer, FireFox, svg-edit, etc). I suspect some kind of clipping region is applied erronously to the masked objects. Note that the svg still displays correctly in Inkskape after corruption!

Steps to reproduce:

1. Draw a simple object
2. Draw a second simple object under the first object
3. Apply a mask on the second object
4. Use the "document properties -> resize to drawing or selection" tool
(5. Save the .svg and open it in Internet Explorer or similar)

I have attached a minimal example of such a wrongly clipped file.

Thank you for your quick reply, and yes, you are right - this seems to be the same issue as in #1481302 indeed... I tried searching for an existing post before submitting, but I couldn't find any matches then. (Sorry!) Though my steps to reproduce are somewhat simpler, maybe that could be of some small help, or at least motivate fixing. ;-)

Please feel free to link this as a duplicate post!

No problem - again thank you for investigating before filing the report, and including the relevant details of your findings about what triggers the issue (this is much appreciated!).

Or would have (launchpad.net currently fails with a python error). I will retry later again to link as duplicate to bug #1481302.
