copy paste between two open files fails

Bug Description

I have two files open at the same time. I copy one label from one file and try to paste it into the other and get glabels fatal error message,

         gl_label_object_set_position: assertion 'object && GL_IS_LABEL_OBJECT (object)' failed

I am trying to get several labels onto one A4 sheet to print prior to laminating then cutting into seperate labels.

Ubuntu 16.04 64bit and glabels 3.4.0

I'm getting that same error, but without even having the copy & paste aspect. I simply select "T" (text box) and click in the active region.

I'm on Xubuntu 19.04, running glabels 3.4.1. Not sure if I should attach to this bug report or create a new one.

Also trying to copy from one label in one instance of glabels to an empty label of the same size in a different instance of glabels. This must be reproducable.

Same error:

glabels fatal error
gl_label_object_set_position: assertion 'object && GL_IS_LABEL_OBJECT(object)' failed

(Running Ubuntu MATE 18.04.3 here with glables 3.4.0-2build2)
