Bug Description

Binary package hint: acpi-support

The Thinkpad T60 (among others) has volume control buttons connected to a hardware mixer.
With the thinkpad-acpi module, the push of the volume control buttons also generates a acpi-event. This event is (wrongly) translated to VOLUME_* key presses. This results that the volume is increased/decreased twice for each push at the control buttons. Ones in Hardware mixer, and once in the Master mixer. Resulting in less course volume control, and inconsistencies in volume when the volume is changed by the volume control buttons, and changing the Master volume in soundcard volume control.

Expected behavior would be not to increase the master volume of the sound card.
Instead only some kind of visual feedback of the change in hardware volume is expected, something like in the tpb package.
