Bug Description

Now that we have the color emojies, they seem to not appear in the notification when you receive a message with one of them.

The actual notification does contain the emoji, as I do get it displayed on the Pebble watch (which sniffs notifications). So it must be a rendering issue on the unity8 side.

Also there seems to be an empty line which doesn't belong there.

Because we currently only support plaintext notifications, see bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity8/+bug/1504256

I stripped down the Notification.qml code down to bare Text {} and still not working; and it's a rendering only problem, I get the notification text passed around correctly (in both dbus and unity-notifications).

This hints at a lower level problem, most likely qtmir (tentatively adding).
