Bug Description
in the wishlist :
Automatically populate a portfolio using a ifttt recipe. It could be files uploaded from a cloud, pictures from Instagram, post in facebook, etc.
The general idea is to have a handle to feed a portfolio (in files or in journal) with artefacts from elsewhere.

Unfortunately I don't think ifttt.com support is on the Mahara HQ roadmap right now, but to provide some background on this idea in case anyone else is interested:
IFTTT ("If this then that", ifttt.com ) is a web-based service that lets users write basic scripts (called "recipes") that can read data from various external services and feed data back out into other external services. These external services are called "channels". For instance when you sign up, the basic recipe they show you as a demonstration is a recipe that is triggered by a daily weather channel, and sends the forecast into the email channel, thus emailing you your weather forecast every day.
So you can see how this could be used to automatically pull data from various services, and populate it into a Mahara portfolio.
Right now, their "developer" link goes to a page saying their developer program is in private beta, so we probably can't get a Mahara channel added. But there is a "Maker" channel that allows you to interact with generic webservices, so someone might be able to get that to work with Mahara's webservices. See https:/ /ifttt. com/maker and https:/ /www.hackster. io/ifttt/ projects
Cheers,
Aaron
