Bug Description
For hosts with a lot of OSDs/disk devices adding a whole unit with potentially dozens of disks can negatively impact cluster performance, as the charm will add all found disks in short order
In those cases it would be beneficial to be able to add OSDs iteratively, to give the cluster time to catch up with recovery and backfill

Yeah I think having an incremental add action would be nice. I'd be happy to guide you along coding that patch if you're willing. If not I can add this to our roadmap for after 16.10.
