Bug Description
Inkscape forces a quit automatically (at least in Win32 version) when it is
unable to auto-save a file. The specific example is when I started work by
opening a TIF that I was using for a background. After around 5 or 10
minutes, I had not yet saved the overall work as an SVG, so Inkscape
attempted to auto-save the file as a TIF. This failed, obviously, and
annoyingly informed me that Inkscape would now exit. Beyond the simple
annoying bug that it is, it is just simply funny yet problematic that a
feature meant to avoid such data loss causes it at the same time.

We actually do not have AUTOsave. What did you do to force it save as
TIFF?
