Bug Description
Revision numbers are quite expensive to calculate if the format doesn't natively support them - it requires iterating over the full history. At the moment, only bzr formats support revision numbers.
It should be possible for formats to declare that they don't support revision numbers, in which case:
* they could be hidden from the user
* where they are necessary, breezy could provide infrastructure to calculate them
