snap connect simply doesn't work

Bug Description

The snap connect function for platforms simply does not work on my PC.

How to reproduce:

1. snap install gnome-dictionary
2. snap install --edge gnome-3-24
3. snap connect gnome-dictionary:gnome-3-24-platform gnome-3-24:gnome-3-24-platform

Then, when I run gnome-dictionary:

You need to connect this snap to the gnome platform snap.

You can do this with those commands:
snap install --edge gnome-3-24
snap connect gnome-dictionary:gnome-3-24-platform gnome-3-24:gnome-3-24-platform

(the '3-24' number defines the platform version and might change)

The snap connect command can be done any number of times without fixing it.

I believe this is a duplicate of #1645731 which is already fixed in the upcoming version and is being discussed in the forum at:

Please try with snapd 2.27.2, it should be fixed there.
