Bug Description

In MAAS 2.5.3, you can see a message at the GUI:

ubuntu bionic is configured as the commissioning release but it is unavailable in the configured streams! Dismiss

Bionic 18.04 is available, in fact nodes are correctly deployed with no problems using it. If you click Dismiss the message goes away with no seemingly bad effect.

Hi Andre,

Why is the error bad? MAAS is basically saying that while you have bionic configured, the image is not currently available in the repository, that is (or could be) https://images.maas.io/ephemeral-v3/

So MAAS is correctly telling the user that the image in the repository is not available.

Hi Andres

What I did:

1. Install maas
2. Check Ubuntu 18.04 amd64 image
3. Wait for image to download / sync
4. Wait for image to sync to rack controllers
5. Successfully deploy a node using bionic (the image just downloaded)

After this, the said message is still there, and I can't see how the image for bionic is unavailable since I just downloaded it and it works.

What am I missing?

Well, this seems like a cosmetic issue since you can just ignore the message, but I guess it's important to keep this in mind to work on the next versions.

This still happens on MAAS 2.8.2.

Ensure that when we have synced bootsources etc. that we reevaluate the notifications regarding missing images and ensure they are correct (i.e. a previously missing commissioning image is now available, we shouldn't bug the user about it).
