Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem

I receive an error while trying to playback videos retrieved by the totem youtube plugin.

This is the error:
Could not open location: you might not have permission to open the file.

Here is the terminal output, generated by the error:

My totem doesn't even install youtube plug-in.
your download video doesn't seem to be on the site anymore.
I was able to watch youtube videos with firefox 3 preview with flash player plugin.

you need to "apt-get install python-gdata". That should get the plugin installing.

Cool, Thanks, Yes, it installed, but I'm have trouble getting anything to play from YouTube with it.

Yep thats what I'm getting, atm (see original bug). Everything was working a couple or more days ago, but some patch brought an end to that. I'd say you just need to wait until the appropriate patch is released -- like me.

Its worth the wait though because browsing youtube in totem is a pretty nice experience. Best of all fullscreen is smoooooth unlike what i get using the proprietary browser plug-in.
