Server error or timeout when uploading a 173 MB debdiff

Bug Description

I tried to upload a 173 MB debdiff to a bug 4 times, resulting in a server error (HTML attached) in one try and a timeout in the other tries. The error ID for the last timeout is OOPS-954a9caefb096bfd1ca36298c0bdea3d.

Adding a large attachment to a bug should reproduce this issue.

Thanks for the bug report.

I had a quick look in the related traceback, and you indeed ran into a timeout.

I also tried a couple of test uploads, and for my moderate internet connection I can upload 20 MB, but timeout on 50 MB.

I will discuss this with my team and get back to you.

Even with a connection that reaches 120 Mbps I get a timeout when trying to upload the same debdiff to the same bug.

I discussed this issue with the team and currently we do not plan to change the timeouts for file uploads for comments, as this file size is an extreme outlier.

So currently this is working as expected.

You already worked around that issue, but my colleague also suggested that you could upload the source package to a PPA, which does not impose these strict timeouts.
