Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz-fusion-plugins-main

I've set up "Edge Flip DnD" option in "Desktop Wall" plugin, but I can't drag-and-drop a desktop icon between two virtual desktops.

I have this exact problem. Completely wiping my compiz configuration didn't help to fix it, I'm afraid.

After a quick chat with someone in #compiz-fusion in freenode, it seems like this problem doesn't affect the current git version of compiz.

I think it's a package in Hardy.

I can confirm this with Ubuntu Hardy. "Edge Flip Move" and "Edge Flip Pointer" work, but "Edge Flip DnD" doesn't.

This bug appears to be fixed in compiz 0.7.8- the version in Ubuntu Intrepid.

Confirmed on karmic, you can easily flip when doing a DnD to the left but not to the right. You have to move the mouse really quickly past the right edge or it just bounces. Most likely it is hitting the left edge of the next viewport over and then switching back.

As part of the bug clean up ahead of 16.04 LTS I'm marking this as invalid because it affects an Ubuntu release which is now unsupported. If you can still recreate this bug in a supported release please do open a new bug and we can triage it for consideration in the 16.04 LTS development cycle.
