Bug Description
Using Ubuntu 8.10 (Installed the beta but have installed all updates as of 27 Oct 2008 15h00 UTC)
I have a Dell Inspiron 6000. When I press Fn-Up/Down to increase or decrease the brightness the brightness does adjust but the pop up that appears to show the brightness level just shows the brightness is at its lowest. After adjusting the brightness I can no longer use any on the main panels. If I click on a menu, say system, the title becomes selected but the menu does not appear. I cannot use the windows panel at the bottom to select another program.
I have also added the brightness applet and I cannot adjust the birghtness via this applet.
I had no hassles on either 7.10 or 8.04
