Bug Description

Binary package hint: seahorse

I just noticed that /usr/bin/seahorse (2.25.4-0ubuntu1) does not display passwords in my .gnome2/keyrings/login.keyring. The password tab is empty. Trying to create a new keyring does not work: choosing File > New > Password Keyring does nothing. Also /usr/bin/seahorse-preferences (seahorse-plugins package) does not have a tab for keyrings. The keyring is still used just fine by libpam-gnome-keyring and gnome-keyring-daemon, so that when I login or resume, my wifi network key is automatically decrypted and used. This seems to be a regression: I downloaded the intrepid .deb (2.24.1-0ubuntu1) and extracted the contents without installing them and ran the intrepid seahorse binary ... and now I can see all the keys in my login.keyring.

My setup:
Ubuntu jaunty with latest updates
seahorse: 2.25.4-0ubuntu1

thank you for your bug report, is that still an issue in the current version?

Marking as triaged, and adding upstream bug watch:

1. seahorse-preferences does not show the keyrings;
2. as a result of (1) above (probably?) cannot change the login keyring passphrase.

I will go and test with SVN trunk, but one of the developers already confirmed.

SVN trunk shows the keyrings, and allows for password change. Not sure what caused the issue, though. Will try to diff.

Is there any chance this will make jaunty? It's still a problem in 2.25.92-0ubuntu2. Woe is me, for having made the mistake of changing my password... :)

Fixed Upstream. Since we ship 2.26 with Jaunty, the fix will be included.
