kernel panic when using cifs mounts

Kernel crash on Hardy

# uname -a
Linux mxapp-126-1-3 2.6.24-23-server #1 SMP Mon Jan 26 00:55:21 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
# cat /proc/version_signature
Ubuntu 2.6.24-23.48-server

The crash seam to happen randomly, we were unable to reproduce it on demand but it's the third time that we saw it happen.

User private directory are mounted from samba on a Suse server.

Just want to point out the following upstream bug which may or may not be related. It's hard to determine without being able to see your full stack trace.

Would it be possible to get a snapshot of the full stack trace if this happens again? Additionally as the upstream bug report mentions quite a few cifs related patches have gone in since 2.6.24. It might be good to test a newer 2.6.28 based kernel available in Jaunty if possible. Thanks.
