Bug Description

Binary package hint: gedit

Description: Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release: 9.10

matthew@matthew-karmic-desktop:~$ apt-cache policy gedit
gedit:
  Installed: 2.27.2-1ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.27.2-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.27.2-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://nz.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Using a VirtualBox instance of Karmic...

Expected with gedit:
1) Open remote file
2) Edit remote file
3) Save remote file without crash

What happened:
1) I opened a remote file with gedit (the file was in the Public folder of the host system; Ubuntu 9.04)
2) made changes to the file
3) attempted to save changes to the remote file (file had read/write permissions)
4) after a short delay crash occurs, gedit disappears...

Note: despite crash, changes were correctly saved to the remote file
