Bug Description
I try to import an image file from a directory that contains >240.000 images. The following happens:
- Inkscape stops responding for >15 min while continually allocationg memory in small chunks (20-80 kb/s). I assume that is reading the directory (file by file?).
- After these >15 min Inkscape responds again and the file import dialog shows all files, as normal, and I can select the file I want.

Does other software take as much? 240.000 are a lot of files. This might be a problem with how windows search the directory for files. In directories with many files it takes a lot of time.
However you should check that there isn't any software generating previews of media files (Windows Media Player does this).
