Dock doesn't disappear when icons are not touched

Bug Description
Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, Metacity
Avant Window Navigator 0.3.2, installed through repository
ATi Radeon HD 4770, Catalyst 9.7
I have activated the "hide below maximized windows" option, which works fine except for one thing. After pointing the mouse at the bottom of the screen, the dock shows up, but it won't disappear before one of the icons are touched.
