Bug Description
The new ppa-index should include a statistics portlet:

Initially it should include:
1. "14 updates were added during the past month." (as an eg.)
2. "Currently 2 packages are building and one package is waiting to build" when appropriate.
Later when we have more stats available, we can add other useful info (download counts etc.).
