Bug Description

== Original report ==

Hello,

I found the following bug in
Inkscape 0.47pre2 r22153, built Aug 24 2009
running under WindowsXP.

- Open a PDF

- Close the PDF import dialog (ESC or Cancel)

Now an error message appears.

I cannot reproduce this on Windows XP and Inkscape 0.47pre2 (Sep 2 2009).
On the PDF Import Dialog, if I click cancel then I get the warning message saying "Failed to load the rquested file C:\etc\etc.pdf." But I do not get a crash and I am able to reload the same file successfully if I try again.

This is exactly what I mean.

No crash, but the error message should not appear.

I agree with this being classed as a bug. If the user *chooses* to cancel an import, they should not see a message saying that the import "failed".

r11777 - ps/pdf import dialog should no longer warn when cancelled.

The duplicate report
- Bug #1005825 “when deciding not to import a bitmap, Inkscape punishes you”
  <https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1005825>
has been now unlinked from this report because the commit in r12777 only addresses PDF import. Bitmap import still displays the same error message if canceled.
