German translation doesn´t work properly

Is this still occurring in 0.3.0.2? There was a similar problem reported for some locales, but I think it's fixed.

Yes, this bug is still occuring in 0.3.0.2. I'm using the following repository: "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/exaile-devel/ubuntu karmic main"

Can you try with the latest revision in the 0.3.0.x branch? There's quite a bit difference in how localizations are set up there.

I forgot to remove the PPA package and it worked fine, after I installed the new version from source.
But after removed the PPA package exaile isn't translated. It's quite strange, isn't it.

Not at all, you have to "make locale" in the source tree first. Then you should be able to run it from the source tree including translations.

I do "make locale":
Exaile is translated into German, if I run it from the source tree with "./exaile". But the installation doesn't work correct, it's not translated, except of File -> Beenden and Edit -> Einstellungen.

Works fine for me with 0.3.0.2 if I take some code from the upcoming 0.3.0.3. Please try that one (not the PPA version).

I do "make", "make locale" and "sudo make install" both in 'exaile' and 'exaile/0.3.0' branch, but it don't work.

I did install the 0.3.0.2 DEB package from the PPA and backported a few lines which will be in 0.3.0.3 anyways.
I won't do a "make install" here but what I did should have the same result. I'm afraid I am not able to reproduce your behavior.

It seems that Exaile installs the translation incorrect. I run "locate exaile.mo" and add the output as attachment.

And what about it is "incorrect"? I can see nothing wrong here.

Indeed, the translations are in the default makefile prefix, /usr/local, as they should be. The deb will install to /usr instead though, maybe gettext just isn't picking up translations in alternate prefixes?

I didn't know that manual compiled packages are installed into /usr/local, so it looks strange to me. But maybe Aren is right? You don't install it from source, do you? Can you upload your modified PPA anywhere, so I can test it?

What’s the status on this one? I for myself still cannot confirm any issues with the German translation.

For exaile 0.3.1b on Ubuntu Karmic installed by ppa, exaile crashes when I try to start it with the german translation.
