Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunar

After opening Thunar, I can click once on a folder, it opens, but then Thunar's file panel does not respond to left clicks anymore. For example, I cannot open a file by double-clicking it, or open a subfolder by double-clicking. Right clicks are recorded, but the menu that shows is always the one as if you have clicked on an empty area in the file pane.

The left panel is still working though, as is the location selector.

I can confirm this behaviour in thunar using lucid lynx. Unfortunately, I am unable to obtain a backtrace for the developers. They do need the backtrace to attempt to resolve this, but every time I attempt to get one, the terminal also freezes. Please try to obtain a backtrace following the instructions at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and upload the backtrace (as an attachment) to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Is that a dup of Bug #520118, or again a different issue? Thanks!

I think they are dups, just that this one seemed easier to understand.

OK, first attempt at creating a backtrace, hope this is what's needed.
