Bug Description

I use Awn 0.3.9-rewrite-bzr601-karmic1-1 from the PPA and Ubuntu Karmic with Metacity (NOT Compiz) in compositing mode. The tooltips behave strangely. Most of them seem painted on a white rectangular window, but sometimes one or more of the window corners are actually transparent. This is with Intel graphics and the standard Intel driver.

Is the following screenshot what you're experiencing?

FWIW, this is an Ubuntu Jaunty (64-bit) with an ATI rv730 video card (xorg drivers), running trunk revision 589 over Metacity.

Yes, indeed. It shows up better with your colors. I attach a couple of screen captures from my computer. Note the funny half-rounded tooltip in the first one.

Is it really Awn's bug or Metacity's? Can someone confirm with different compositing manager? (other than Mutter of course)

I just tried it with compiz, and it works correctly, so it could indeed be a bug with Metacity compositing (which has other problems too).

Marking as Invalid in Awn, probably a bug in metacity.

Though this is a bug in metacity, we implemented a workaround in R650.
