Bug Description
Lucid LiveCD doesn't work on my epia-m-10k board (when X starts my LCD turns off) so here's what I did to try to upgrade my two mythtv-
1- installed a command line system (10.04 beta-2 daily build 08/04/10)
2- console was scrambled as described here https:/
3- installed xserver-
at this point everything works: X starts and correcly detects my lcd resolution, mythtv works fine.
But when I connect my pal tv via S-Video cable, the LCD will turn off when X starts and tv-out will display some dots at a wrong refresh rate I think.
swithing to a console (ex. alt+f2) results in a visible but wrong mode for the LCD (it complains to set a proper mode and in a minute turns off), and some static blue vertical lines on tv.
changing bios settings doesn't help
using several working xorg conf (taken from a working karmic frontend) doesn't solve the problem....
compiling latest openchrome driver (and trying it against different configurations) isn't of any use
I'm quite sad because lucid boots faster than karmic on epia M (from power on to mythfrontend in about 1 minute isn't that bad for theese ancient mobo) and I'd like to upgrade my backend; but before doing so I must be sure my two epia m frontend machines will work.... otherwise my wife and son will kill me.
apologizing for my bad english language and noobness in filing a bug, I'd be glad to give you the information you need if you fell it's worth a try.
thank you in advance for your hard work and bye,
alessandro (IT).
Similar experience here. Upgrading from 9.10 to 10.04 means that none of my myth front-ends will work because just after boot, VGA and TV-out both go blank - message on the VGA monitor says "input not supported". Confirmed that none of the BIOS settings I've tried have yielded any success.
Willing to try anything - DVR network is completely useless as-is, so it's not like I'm losing anything by testing stuff :)
