"New users to Ubuntu may find that it takes some time to feel comfortable
with the operating system. You will no doubt notice many similarities to both
Microso Windows and Mac , as well as some things that work very
differently."
Suggest taking the blame off Ubuntu and just the fact that switching an operating system in general takes time to get used to.
New example:
"New users to Ubuntu may find that it takes some time to feel comfortable
when trying a new operating system. With Ubuntu you will no doubt notice many similarities to both
Microso Windows and Mac , as well as some things that work very
differently."
Of course I'm not a writer, so fix it right.

How about?
"As with any operating system new users to Ubuntu may find that it takes some time to feel comfortable when switching. With Ubuntu..."
