Bug Description

Binary package hint: vlc

The VLC media player icon in the notification area has its own background which may not always match with the System theme. For instance I am using Ambiance theme that is the default in Ubuntu 10.04, but the VLC player icon has its own background color white which makes it appear as odd man out.The screenshot describing the issue is attached.

I doubt if this a duplicate of bug #403135 and that bug's fix was released for Lucid. The bug I am reporting is in Lucid. Also the issue is with VLC using its own background color white and not matching the theme color in the notification area - black.

Bug #403135 is marked as confirmed for Ubuntu VLC. I do not see anyone claiming to having fixed it.
