Bug Description

Booting Ubuntu over the network using a combination of PXE (for the kernel and ram drive) and an NFS Share for the Root File system (live disk image) This method works with older versions of ubuntu that i have used it on (ubuntu 8.04.4) But not in Lucid.

It returns an error which comes up on several different clients that i have tested this method on, all of which boot 8.04 fine,

I have included a screen-shot of error text hidden behind ubuntu's Boot splash (viewable by pressing the arrow key) attached to this bug report.

Also this has been posted on the forum here
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9649581#post

I could be wrong, but maybe it has something to do with the network modules? its defiantly a bug or something, as everyone i have asked this about have been able to re produce the same problem.

by adding ignore_uuid after boot=casper i was able to get as far as busybox.

however it doesn't seem to be initialising the network, but this can be done manually.

Some logs can be useful. Could you run "apport-collect 612058" in order to attach some logs to this bug? Maybe apport-cli can be of help if you cannot get the network up.
Thanks
