Does this happen every time you export a video? or just on occasion? Also,
what version of OpenShot are you using and what OS are you using? Thanks!

Hi Jonathan,

For me, it is on the 1.2.2-1 on Lucid Lynx 64 bits and the files are exported in MPEG-2 , each time. I don't know how i have missed this when we have done the test. We should think to create a period and a test 's protocol before done an output of a new version.

Openshot needs pynotify to display popup, is it installed ? On archlinux the package is named python-notify.

This problem occurs with me as well:

Ubuntu 11.04
Openshot 1.3.1-1_all

Exporting a clip (at this time, trying to export to MPEG-2 (DVD Widescreen)) looks like it is going to work ok, progress bar fills up, but when it reaches 100%, all you can click on is Cancel and there is no popup/notification that it is complete. It is utilizing 70-90% CPU and about ~500MB RAM and the status is "Sleeping". It has been this way for hours on a 3.0Ghz 4GB RAM machine.

As a comparison, Kdenlive worked fine with this clip and exported to MPEG-2, but I would like to use Openshot if possible.

I see a similar problem using Openshot 1.4.01 on Linux Mint Debian 64bit. The export seems to work, but there is no update of the progress bar and no indication the export finished. If I cancel after the CPU activity ceases the exported Video (MPEG) seems to be OK. When I exported the video the first time after creating it it worked fine, the progress bar and the dialog closed normal. However, after some modification I tried to export again and this time there is no progress bar etc.
MLT is 0.7.4-02 and FFmpeg is 0.8.2-0.0
Python-notify is installed
