Bug Description

When I start to record audio with GNUsound almost all programs crash, including gnome-panel, konqueror, gnome terminal and of course GNUsound itself. Maybe it's some audio system that's crashing, taking down all programs using audio, or something. However, IMNSHO _nothing_ should have that effect! We might as well give up memory protection if we accept that some non-essential system can cause every other program to crash.

I can reproduce this 100% so just ask if you want me to try something or give more details about something.

I couldn't reproduce the problem now. Well, gnusound still crashes, but it doesn't appear to cause other programs to crash. I've attached the standard out and error streams of when gnusound crashes.

Is the symptom reproducible on current 8.04 or 8.10 alpha?
