Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

Hey

alt-f2 doesn't work for me anymore; I have unity 3.8.8-0ubuntu1 and trying to run either scripts of mine, or just "xterm" or even explicitly "/usr/bin/xterm" fails.

looking at .xsession-errors I see this when typing alt-f2:

(<unknown>:16540): dee-CRITICAL **: dee_model_get_last_iter: assertion `DEE_IS_MODEL (self)' failed

(<unknown>:16540): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_dbus_proxy_call: assertion `G_IS_DBUS_PROXY (proxy)' failed

(<unknown>:16540): dee-CRITICAL **: dee_model_get_first_iter: assertion `DEE_IS_MODEL (self)' failed

(<unknown>:16540): dee-CRITICAL **: dee_model_get_last_iter: assertion `DEE_IS_MODEL (self)' failed
(a bunch of repeated lines)

and once the search for the command completes I get:

** (<unknown>:16540): DEBUG: Cannot activate anything

Cheers,

Hey Loic,

I just tried /usr/bin/xterm and it seems to work there.
Do you have any search match when you type it? Do you see the history? Also, does directly "xterm" works?

I have no match when typing and I see no history; direct "xterm" doesn't work

I'll try rebooting to see if it's some confused program

I had this earlier. It fixed itself after a logout or reboot.

The "searching" spinner sits there for 5 seconds, but no results appear, either for Alt-F2 or <Super>.

Additionally I get no "Files" results in the main Dash which may be related.

okay funny, when I clicked on the "Files and Folders" icon on the dock, I see the files. Then I go click on the main dash, and it works!
