Unable to start new program from launcher after it was installed, restart needed

Bug Description
I added chromium-daily ppa with add-apt-repository, then performed apt-get update, apt-get install chromium-browser. Then I starred chromium-browser from terminal and when it was running I selected "Keep in Launcher" on the Chromium icon that appeared in launcher.
After I closed chromium, I wasn't able to start it again from Launcher. Clicking on the icon just made it blink for a while and then it stopped.
Logging in and out helped and the icon is now working.

This same bug affects me using Chrome stable 11.0.696.65 with a natty 11.04
