Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Not entirely sure if this is the right place or I'm giving the correct information, but here goes.

Installed Ubuntu 11.04 Natty yesterday. I noticed things were going rather slowly, and opened up System Monitor. I was rather surprised to see that in processes, compiz was running with 250 MiB of memory and increasing.

On logging in to Ubuntu, it starts off with about 23MiB of memory. It then increases rather rapidly: 1MiB about every 20 seconds! If left, it can slow my computer down so much as to be unusable, and it also causes the temperature to increase (to 86 degrees C)

Attached is the output when compiz is run through valgrind. It ran for about 5 minutes or so before the laptop overheated and shut itself down.

Installed version is 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2
