Bug Description

I have an ASUS Geforce GT220 PCI-E 2.0 1 GB DDR2 Low Profile Graphic Card.
Display dimensions: 1360X768 pixels

Linux-x86_64

I have installed the NVIDIA Driver Version: 270.41.06 (installed from ubuntu repositories)

There is a bug with the Unity-desktop. I can't be able to click on the network icon neither the volumen icon, both located into the unity-desktop upper bar menu. The problem is just with these two white icons, the rest of them work properly.

The problem it is not just with this video graphic card.

I also installed Ubuntu 11.04 to a T400s lenovo thinkpad laptop with a Graphics Controller Intel GMA 4500MHD and it presents the same bug.

Is this issue still valid? I can't reproduce here, I'll mark as invalid until confirmation that this is still a problem.

yes this happens to me all the time!
Sometimes it is both the network and the volume icon (i think), but mostly its just the network icon that is not clickable.
workaround: click on the clock (or other indicator icon) and move mouse to the left to open the network menu. I have to do this all the time.
I have a DELL Latitude D630.
Let me know if you need any more details.

Now I realize the problem started to appear after I did the following, in order to re-enable the notification area (systray) in Ubuntu 11.04 for all applications:

"It's a new feature in Ubuntu 11.04 where the systray is only used by indicators and not regular applications. To overcome this, you can enter the following command in a terminal and then restart your sessions (log out and log back in): gsettings set com.canonical.Unity.Panel systray-whitelist "['all']"."

I can confirm the same behavior. My systray is set to 'all' as well, and the farthest left indicator icon is unclickable when there is 1 systray icon open. (doesn't matter which systray icon or indicator icon it is, it is always the farthest left indicator icon)
If I have 2 systray icons open, then the farthest left indicator icon seems to work intermittently.

felix, does changing the number of systray icons open change any behavior for you?

Note that if I have it set to 'all' but no systray icons open, everything is fine.

hopefully this helps to narrow down this bug!
